Our association is not only the oldest IT association in Romania \u00a0(it was established in 1991) but it is the only one that represents the interests of both individual and business professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n

We were in the first line of promoting the field in relation to governmental and legislative bodies, being a co-author of the proposal accepted in 2001 that IT workers benefit from tax exemptions in order to promote this vital area for Romania’s future.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have been concerned about the impact of our work on society and adopted the ECDL Digital Competence Certification Model, recognized worldwide in more than 160 countries, a successful action in Romania since 2002.<\/p>\n

ATIC has a wide international recognition as an active member of CEPIS – the Council of European Professional Associations of Computer Science and WITSA – World Alliance of Information and Services Technology and the IT STAR Regional Organization.<\/p>\n

Our association is preoccupied about the history of \u00a0IT in Romania and organizes actions to mark the history of computers and telecommunications.<\/span><\/p>\n

The past obliges us.<\/span><\/p>\n

A future full of actions in favor of the Romanian IT community can be conceived only together.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Association for Information Technology and Communications of Romania\u00a0<\/strong>organizes and promotes the information exchange, collaboration and cooperation between its members, establishing as a fundamental principle the support of science practice in this field, honoring the creativity, respecting the law, in a wide exchange of opinions for the utilization with maximum efficiency and professionalism of the new scientific novelties.<\/p>\n

The Association for Information Technology and Communications of Romania\u00a0<\/strong>deems itself\u00a0<\/strong>as active part of the Romanian civil society, sensing to participate in the name of its members in the elaboration process as well as the public debate of the strategic orientations, lawmaking initiatives, written and audio-visual communication regarding the development of the IT&C field in\u00a0Romania.<\/p>\n

On June 23, 2023, the General Assembly of ATIC (Association for Information Technology and Communications in Romania) took place. On this occasion, the president of the association, Prof. Vasile Baltac, announced his retirement from the position. The attending members expressed their appreciation for his three decades of leadership within the association and his contribution to the development of the IT field in Romania and internationally. Dr. Vasile Baltac was widely recognized being elected\u00a0president of CEPIS, the European Association of IT professionals, vice-president of WITSA, the global alliance of professional associations in the field and member of the board of ICDL Foundation. According to ATIC’s statutes, Professor Vasile Baltac becomes the honorary president of the association and the dean of the ATIC Forum.<\/p>\n

Mr. Alin Ni\u021b\u0103, a recognized professional in the field and the CEO of Five Plus Solutions, was elected as the new president of ATIC. Mr. Ni\u021b\u0103 has demonstrated his commitment to the digital domain and has been actively promoting its development in Romania.<\/p>\n

ATIC, the oldest IT association in Romania, aims to promote the exchange of information, collaboration, and cooperation among its members, while honouring creativity and adherence to the law through extensive discussions for the efficient and professional use of scientific advancements.
\nATIC will continue to be a driving force in the advancement of the IT industry in Romania, fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth opportunities in this vital sector of the national economy. Under the leadership of President Alin Ni\u021b\u0103, ATIC will seek to further strengthen Romania’s position as a regional IT hub and promote the advantages and opportunities offered by information and communications technologies.<\/p>\n
